An announcement: As of today, I am no longer planning to update the TCoM for Wrath of the Lich King; I am no longer even certain I will be leveling Lhivera to 80, let alone playing her as my main. This makes me quite sad, as I'm very attached to her, but the problems of the new Frost tree are simply to severe to ignore.

If you care about this class, I urge you, go to the beta forum, or the PTR forum, and tell Blizzard that:

They have failed to introduce any changes to the Frost Mage PvE playstyle, and we're tired of spamming Frostbolts.

The current Fingers of Frost implementation fails to encourage Shatter Combos, due to its charged design and poor scaling of Frost instants; using the charges on a Shatter Combo reduces DPS rather than increasing it.

Deep Freeze is the only 51-point talent for any tree of any pure ranged DPS class that has no value in raiding.

As far as raiding Frost Mages are concerned, Blizzard could have saved a great deal of time and effort simply by giving us a talent named "Spam Spam Spamety Spam Spam Spam" that increases Frostbolt damage by 5% and crit by 15%; the practical effect on our enjoyment of the game would have been identical.

To me, these facts make for an unacceptable lack of improvement to the Frost PvE playstyle; I've been spamming Frostbolts for four years, and I'll be damned if that's all I'm going to do for the next two years. I expect I will be playing my Hunter, or one of my Warlocks.

Instructions

Plug in the stats and options you'd like to calculate, or enter your character name and server name and region to retrieve your stats from the WoW Armory. Then, select a spec for the Theory-o-Matic to calculate for you. To compare two specs or sets of stats side-by-side, select a spec for the right column as well.

If you have the Mind Mastery or Arcane Mind talents, make sure you indicate how many points of each you have in each so that your intellect and damage totals can be adjusted for other specs.

A couple notes on the Armory retrieval feature:

All stats retrieved from the armory include active buffs; remember this when selecting buff options.
The Armory does not yet support retrieving Haste Rating, so you'll need to input that yourself.
If you are using the Armory retrieve feature, your Mind Mastery and Arcane Mind points will be filled in for you.
If the Armory is down, or simply fails to respond, you may simply get no data or you may get a series of ugly error messages.

Recent changes:

3/27/08:	Added Timbal's Focusing Crystal. Only the +44 damage is calculated for Arcane and Frost specs; the approximate proc DPS is added in for the Fire and Arcane/Fire specs.
3/25/08:	Arcane rotations are now smarter about when to insert dead time rather than casting another filler spell. This will in particular improve the accuracy of calculating haste effects for Arcane specs.
3/25/08:	Spirit Regeneration has been adjusted to the 2.4 formula.
3/25/08:	Global cooldown (and all numbers that are affected by them) are now calculated with haste, to a minimum of 1.0 seconds.
1/4/08:	The Theorycraft-o-Matic has been integrated into my main website, now that I've replaced my server.
12/5/07:	Major fix to the haste code. Haste Rating and Icy Veins now correctly behave multiplicatively.
12/4/07:	There is now an 18/0/43 Frost build. A lot of underlying code has been centralized and simplified to make for easier changes. However, this code has not yet been tested extensively, so let me know if anything looks weird. You can now select a racial bonus (apologies to Trolls, but your racial is too variable to include here, at least for now). If you are Draenei, Gnome or Human, it is important to select the appropriate race for higher accuracy. You can now select a variety of raid buffs and consumables.

To-do list (no promises!):

Code more bonus effects.

Some automated method of subtracting your current trinket stats from the base stats, and then allowing you to select two trinkets to calculate with, and include their procs in the resulting dps calculations.
